I missed the reception at Figures & Faces yesterday at PAL, but going to the show on a quiet day has its own advantages: you can enjoy each artwork in quiet and for as long as you wish without inconveniencing others.
So, here is what caught my eye (what’s puzzling, none of the pieces below won a place or a honorable mention).

Lisa Rosenstreich – Dylan. Colored pencil on paper, 72″ x 50″
Just a huge unframed sheet of paper, beautifully layered strokes. I liked that serious expression on the boy’s face.

Archil Pichkhadze – Nancy. Oil on board, 9″ x 12″
Wonderful small masterpiece, could not pull myself away from it.

Ron Carter – Balance. Mixed media

ink, pastel pencil, 6″ x 4″

pastel pencil, ink, 6″ x 4″
